With a revised forecast high of 85 in Cuyamaca tomorrow, it is simply too hot to undertake a 12 mile hike with significant elevation gain. Instead, we’ll do a repeat of the coastal hike we did last August.
WILDERNESS HIKE [Revised] Oct. 23, 2019
Start time: 8:00AM
No Mission Valley carpool.
Today’s hike will take us along the Pacific Ocean from Belmont Park to La Jolla Shores (8.2 miles). Following lunch at the Shores, and a frozen yogurt at Yogurt Your Way [hike leader’s treat], we’ll take the #30 bus back to Crystal Pier and walk the final 1.9 miles back to Belmont Park, for a total of 10 miles. Bring snack, lunch, water and EXACT fare [quarters recommended] for the bus [$2.50 if under 60/$1.25 if 60+]. The forecast for Wednesday along the coast is sunny with a high of 78. Contact Mike L. at 858-922-0738 or email@example.com with any questions.
Directions: Take West Mission Bay Drive to Mission Boulevard [Belmont Park is on the corner]. Turn left on Mission and turn right at the first light into the large parking lot. We will meet by the restrooms at the west end of the parking lot at 8:00AM.
