Wilderness Hike Saturday November 30, 2019 We will trek along the trails of El Capitan County Preserve. This will be a maximum distance of 10.6 miles, depending on how far each decides to go. It is an in and out journey. There is a lot of steep up and down with a total elevation gain of 3440’. No rain is predicted and high temperature should be in the upper fifties.
Trekking poles and lug soled shoes are recommended. Dress for cool weather and bring sun protection plus ample water. Even though the distance is not great this is one of the more strenuous hikes in our repertoire.
The hike starts at 8:30AM. To reach the parking area from I-8 go north on route 67 through Lakeside. Turn right on Willows Rd and left on Wildcat Canyon Rd. Staging area is 3.2 miles on your right.
